A 19th century amethyst single stone panel brooch, the oval mixed-cut amethyst in pinched collet setting, framed by foliage and scrolls, gold mounted, with later loop fitting, length 4.2cm
Surface wear, scuffs, scratches and nicks/small chips to amethyst, which measures approx. 26.5mm length x 22.5mm width x 13.7mm depth. The amethyst is very slightly loose in its setting. Surface wear, scuffs and small chips to mount, with an area of filing to the back of the mount. Pin is functioning, loop fitting is later added. Metal standard is untested. Gross weight approx. 22.2gm.
