An oval miniature portrait of a young gentleman, reputedly Augustus d'Este, illegitimate son of Augustus Duke of Sussex, brother of George IV, bust length wearing a blue coat with white stock, signed with monogram and dated 1807, watercolour on ivory, in gilt metal frame with elaborate seed pearl and gilt heightened hairwork panel verso, 7.5 x 5.8cm, cased, together with a copy of the book 'Letters and Papers of Andrew Robertson, miniature painter to his late Royal Highness the Duke of Sussex' by Archibald Robertson.
