Information:
Rachel Ruth Selby-Bigge was a member of the family that ran Lund Humphries; the art printing and publishing business in Bradford. In 1914 she started her studies at the Slade School of Art where she was friends with Dora Carrington and Lytton Strachey. It was there she met and married the surrealist artist John Amherst Selby-Bigge, later second Baronet of Kings Sutton. At one time she ran an art class in Oxford and her work was exhibited at the New English Art Club.
