The painting in need of a clean, slight bloom to the paint surface in the darker areas, some cracking to the paint layer around which the varnish has bloomed giving the impresssion of white scratches to the lower left. the contemporary frame with some losses, minor marks and damages and in need of a clean, the frame with an Edinburgh Framers label to the reverse and note where the painting was hung in the drawing room, right of fire.
