A late 19th/early 20th century amethyst, diamond and pearl pendant/brooch, centred with a heart-shaped mixed-cut amethyst and lasque-cut diamond cluster, enclosed by a similarly cut diamond set foliate wreath with pearl accents, gold and silver mounted, (four pearls deficient, pearls untested for origin), length 2.8cm
The amethyst has a pale purple hue with surafce wear, chips and nicks, measuring approx. 11mm length x 10.2mm width x 6mm depth. The diamonds have a typically greyish and included appearance, some stones with chips and fractures. Four of the pearls are issing and the remaining pearls are bouton in shape, with slightly variable creamy-white hues, all with surface wear. The mount has signs of general wear, scuffs and nicks, with slight thinning to the edges, commensurate for age and use, and patchy tarnishing. The brooch clasp hinges so that it can be folded flat and the pin is functioning, but does not detach from the mount. Metal standard is untested. Width of panel 2.25cm. Gross weight approx. 6.9gm.
