A Victorian gold locket pendant, modelled as a book, profusely engraved with flowerheads, foliage and foliate scrolls, with geometric borders, stamped '18', (verso panel missing), length 4.2cm
A panel is missing to one side of the locket, leaving two vacant apertures to that side. Otherwise general surface wear, scuffs and chips/nicks throughout, commensurate for age and use. Chips to both lower corners. Engraved decoration is relatively crisp. The interior apertures may be mounted with a different metal. The locket hinge closes tightly. Metal standard is untested. Gross weight approximately 23.4gm.
