A late Victorian/Edwardian sapphire and diamond set bracelet, of fancy curb-link design, spaced with alternate circular mixed-cut sapphires and cushion-shaped old-cut diamonds in pinched collet settings, stamped '15' and numbered 1003, length approximately 18.5cm
The hollow links have general surface wear, scuffs, nicks and chips throughout, with occasional shallow dings/impressions, commensurate for age and use. The settings have patchy wear with some areas of thinning and the clasp is currently functioning. Sapphires are well matched, of steely blue hues, with good transparency and areas of faint colour zoning. All sapphires have scuffs/scratches, chips and nicks, commensurate for use. Diameter of sapphires approximately 5mm. Diamonds have a lively appearance but have yellowish tints and all contain multiple fractue and mineral inclusions, some stones with chips and surface-reaching fractures. Estimated P2 clarity and J to L colour, assessed mounted. Average diamond size approximately 0.15ct to 0.20ct each. Approximate gross weight 18.7gm.
