LETTERS TO H.H. ASQUITH (1852-1928, 1ST EARL OF OXFORD, PRIME MINISTER 1908-1916) A collection of letters of condolence to H.H. Asquith, when Prime Minister, on the death of his son Raymond, who was killed Action in 1916 Numerous letters from dignitaries and Statesman, including a few telegrams to include King George V., Lloyd George and others. Letters of sympathy include: Marquess of Lansdowne Edward Grey, The Viscount Grey of Falloden Lord Derby, Undersecretary of State for War Robert Ross Spencer, Althorp Aubrey Herbert John Sinclair, Governor of Madras Cosmo (Lang) Archbishop of York Various from Balliol College, Oxford, and Regiments A few Letters of Asquith's younger son Anthony, addressed as 'Puffin', some relating to the death of his mother ( approx 150 items)
