Note: The Gloster Whittle (E28/39) was designed and built by the Gloster Aircraft Company. Its official first flight was at RAF Cranwell on 15 May 1941. A Gloster Whittle is on display at the Science Museum, London, object no. 1946-110/1.

The prototype for the Bristol Beaufighter flew on 17 July 1939 and the first production Beaufighters were delivered to the Royal Air Force in the following April. A Bristol Beaufighter TFX is on display at the Royal Air Force Museum, London, serial no. RD253.

With signs of wear consistent with age and use. Fold/line present in one photograph. Miniature holes are present. Unidentifiable foreign objects behind the glass. Tape or paper attached to the versos. Label attached to the verso of one frame. One photograph has slipped down in its frame. One photograph with losses. With evidence of tape attached to one photograph. Please note that we have not removed these from the frames to examine.
