Walter, Bruno - an autograph letter addressed to 'Dear Friend' from the Hotel Radisson dated 3.1.1941, the conductor advising that he has spent the last eight months in the Californian Sunshine in Beverley Hills, is conducting a concert in 'this middlewest town' before heading to New York to meet with his wife and daughter where he will conduct the 'Philharmonic Concerts for four weeks' and 'after that six weeks at the Metropolitan Opera'. He also writes about his enjoyment in being in the USA and the optimism about the outcome of the war and also his longing to return to Europe and especially for England, together with a further autographed typed letter from Walter to Dr John Plesch, dated June 24 1947 (2)
