English School (18th century)
Dancing figures in a scene from The Vicar of Wakefield, oil on canvas, 97.5 x 124cm
Restored and repainted by Harold Moss, 1886. Further cleaned and restored by Bon Dale, February 1985. Generally, the paint layer appears stable with signs of historic overpainted craquelure, particularly notable in the sky. A repair to the canvas running down the length of the right hand side.
