Diamonds have a fairly bright and lively appearance but with variable clarity, some stones with chips and surface-reaching fractures, estimated SI1 to P2 clarity and I to L colour, assessed mounted. The mount has general surface wear commensurate for age and use and is heavily tarnished. The edges of the settings have patchy wear. Metal standards are untested. There is evidence of solder repair to the back of the mount, to the fitting aperture. The brooch fitting currently functions and one of the aigrette fittings can be attached to the mount so that the star can be worn 'en tremblant'. Gross weight of star excluding fittings approximately 7.4gm. The case is worn, with patchy staining and losses to the exterior finish.
