An 18th century longcase clock by Thomas Utting of Yarmouth

The chinoiserie lacquered case decorated with pierced red silk back fretwork to the top of the hood, the hood with gilt ball finials and all standing on bracket feet, the silvered Roman chapter ring containing a second indicator and date aperture, all surrounded by cast chased and engraved spandrels, the movement striking the hours on a bell.

Dimensions: 50cm wide x 24cm deep x 222cm high overall

Minor marks, dents and scratches overall due to age and use, signs of more recent restoration to the case, a 2cm square section of loss to the centre of the door, the blued hands with some signs of rusting, the movement clean and seemingly in good condition but not guaranteed working, some signs of old woodworm to the pilaster columns to the back of the hood, one ball finial in need of reattachment but present, the clock complete with two weights and a pendulum.
