Does Mallams collect data or personal information?

Yes, the nature of the services provided by Mallams Ltd. means we will need to obtain certain information about clients. This is done purely for replying to enquiries or for remembering useful details which make the site easier to use.

What kind of data does Mallams collect?

Mallams collects contact details such as names, email addresses and phone numbers. This enables us to respond to any individual query. Similarly, comments made on the Mallams blog require similar contact details to be entered.

Who can access it?

Mallams and any third parties required to provide you with our service. We will pass your details on to third parties only if you have consented to us doing so.

What kind of third-parties?

External agents providing a service to us, or providing a service to you. For example you may use a separate hosting company, and as such we may need to send them instructions and details on your behalf.

What about Google Analytics?

We also use Google Analytics to collect completely anonymous data about your browsing habits. We use this to improve the site (and will use it on sites we build for you to improve yours as well). The data is anonymous but can pick up browsing habits on the site, country/region information and time spent on a page.

 

Do we use cookies?

Yes. Cookies are tiny files stored on your computer by the website, these little snippets contain no personal data, but help us make the website (and services on the website) work better.

They can do lots of things, but one of the usual ones is remembering that you’re logged into the site – making it easier for you to leave comments or take part in discussions (on our blog for example).

Other examples include tracking cookies from Google analytics which tracks anonymous information about your browsing habits.

What are tracking cookies?

A tracking cookie tells us a variety of things, including the last page you’ve visited previously, whether you’ve been on the site before and when this happened. We use Google Analytics for this purpose.

Mallams is responsible for the content of this website. However we may link to other websites, or reference content from other websites for which we are not responsible. We are not responsible for their data policies, procedures or content.

We will take all reasonable steps to protect your personal data – but we cannot guarantee the security of any data you disclose online. By using this site you accept the inherent security implications of dealing online and will not hold us responsible for any breach in security unless we have been negligent or in wilful default.

MALLAMS PRIVACY POLICY

  1. Information that we may collect and process about you.
    • Information you provide by completing entry forms when registering to sell or information given when registering to bid on items in a sale. This information for example could be; name, address, postcode, telephone number(s), Email address, bank details.
    • We may keep a record of your details if you contact us.

    • All information provided by you is stored on our secure servers or securely held in hard file form at our salerooms. Transaction data is encrypted for your safety

    • We will use your information to meet any commitments we make to you as agreed in contracts.
    • With your consent; provide you with information, products or services that you request from us or which we feel may interest you.
    • Notify you of changes of our services or company.
    • Analyse information about our users to identify their potential preferences.
    • Due to our legitimate business interest we will keep your details for as long as is necessary to provide the relevant services, maintain business records to satisfy tax, legal and other regulatory requirements, and protect and defend against potential legal claims.

      • The right to access information held about you free of charge. If you would like access to your personal information please contact the Mallams Data Officer, details at the end of this policy.

      • The right to ask Mallams to delete personal data held about you. To request deletion of personal data, please contact the Data Officer, details at the end of this policy. We will respond to your request for deletion one month from when the request is received.
      • The right to move your personal data from Mallams database/files to another location/company.
    • Our website may contain links to/from our partners and affiliates’ websites. If you follow a link to their sites, please note that these sites have their own privacy policy and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for their policies. Please check these policies before you submit any personal data to these sites.

    • We will report all data breaches to the ICO within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, where feasible. If required we will also inform the individual(s) without undue delay. A record will be kept of all data breaches.
