Ben Lloyd has been
instrumental in the
growth of Mallams’ to
one of the country’s
leading auctioneers of
fine art during his 39 years at the firm. His all
round knowledge, respected academic
approach, has been highly valued by Mallams’
Based in the Oxford office Rupert is in charge
of the valuation
department and
responsible for the
specialist painting sales
in Oxford. With
previous experience at Phillips in Sevenoaks
and Oxford (latterly
Bonhams) he has been
instrumental in the discovery and cataloguing
of some major ‘finds’ including a Boucher
drawing realising £31,000 and a set of Vitruvius
architectural drawings realising £165,000.
Clive joined Mallams in 1987 as an auctioneers’ assistant in Oxford. Over time he rose through
the ranks and managed Mallams’ Bicester
saleroom for a number of years, until the end
of 2007. He now works in all three offices as a
general valuer, and throughout the year he is in charge of putting together specialist sales of clocks, watches and scientific instruments.
Director based in Cheltenham. In charge of the valuations in Cheltenham and the South West, Robin has been working as an auctioneer for over 30 years with previous experience working in London and the provinces. Robin catalogues and prepares a biannual auction of ceramics and glass held in Cheltenham.
Philip joined Mallams in
2007, bringing with him considerable fine art
and academic expertise.
He gained an MA from
the Courtauld Institute
in 2007 in 18th
Century British and French Art, following
his 1st Class Honours degree in History and
Fine Art from Leicester University.
Recently conducting a number of sales he is
working on and researching the next series of
painting sales to take place in Cheltenham and
Oxford.
Hayley Wooldridge BA (Hons) -
After completing a
Christie’s Graduate
Training Scheme, Henry
joined Mallams’ in May
2005 as an Auctioneer
and Saleroom Manager
in Oxford. He is now
Auctioneer and
Saleroom Manager in
the new Abingdon saleroom and valuation
department. His area of expertise includes
18th Century blue and white porcelain and
delftware.
Simon is Mallams’
financial director.
Before working for us
he spent 26 years
working for Barclays
Bank and ten years as
secretary of Chipping
Norton Golf Club. He
has a particular interest
in and is a collector of Victorian watercolours
and Victorian and Delft Tiles.
Mary Lloyd -
Mary is Mallams’ book specialist and has
catalogued and researched a number of
important library collections as well as
organising the regular book auctions in Oxford.
She has strong links to the university and museums and is a well-known figure in this
field.
